What does this mean?

Hello, this item is an authentic pencil-signed color lithograph by Joan Miró (1893–1983), titled Le Lézard aux Plumes d’Or (Composition XV), published in 1971. This work belongs to Miró’s celebrated series Le Lézard aux Plumes d’Or (“The Lizard with Golden Feathers”), a major artist’s book project combining original lithographs with poetic text, published by Louis Broder in Paris and printed by Mourlot, one of the most important print ateliers of the 20th century. The present example is from the limited edition of 100 on parchment paper, this one numbered 87/100, and bears Miró’s pencil signature.

The catalog raisonné references (Cramer 148, Maeght 515) confirm its importance within Miró’s printed oeuvre. Works from this series are highly sought after, especially those in excellent condition, as this one is described to be, without tears, fading, or foxing. The large format, 39.25 x 14 inches unframed, also enhances desirability. The provenance, with Hanson Galleries documentation from the early 1980s, adds credibility and strengthens market value.
