We Believe the item is made from Vellum according to a language professor. It's about 8 inches wide and 12" tall. It's double sided
A house in Los Angeles was being cleaned out where my grandfather was able to acquire the item
Dear LeAura,
Thank you for your request. The presented object is a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 8 inches wide and 12" tall. It depicts a drawing of a water buffalo with his characteristic back and text in Arabic letters. It is written with ink on vellum and was probably made between the 17th and 19th century. Sadly the dating of such manuscripts is difficult on the base of images.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
*confused
Could you please help me understand that piece of info.
Dear Leaura,
I am very sorry. This was a mistake by myself. This is made with ink on vellum or paper, like I wrote two sentences later. The oil on canvas was related to another estimation.
With kind regards,
Georg
