Bank Sale
Dear David,
Thank you for your request. The presented object is a serigraph in colors prints with the measurements of 33 x 23,25 inches. It depicts an abstract motif and has the title "Color Forms (G") and was designed by the American artist Leon Polk Smith (1906-1996) who is associated with the so-called "Hard-edge school". The print is signed by hand with a pencil by the artist and has the edition of 33/150. Another print with this motif and edition was in auction Germany in the year 2015 and reached a hammer price of 902 USD. Probably it will reach a higher hammer price in the US. Two prints were in an auction this year in the US with higher estimates above 2.000 USD, but not sold. As a conclusion and lower estimate is advisable.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
A base auction estimation would be between 900 to 1.800 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
