I acquired this print in a group of four framed prints from a Belgian container at a local auction. A google search of the item brought up information from artnet.com identifying the image as "A family of travellers with a donkey in a wooded landscape attributed to Italian painter Francesco Maggiotto. This name is shown in the captioning on the print. The print also identifies Francesco del Pedro as the probable printmaker/engraver (?) My print measures 12 in. x 16 1/4 in. with the total framed size being 20 3/8in. x 24 3/4in. The frame appears to be modern with the image being re-framed likely. The print is intact with no damage and is adhered to a back paper which has some wrinkling.

Hello,
Your item is a lithograph print of a painting attributed to Francesco Maggiotto, likely a 19th or early 20th-century reproduction of his work. Maggiotto was an Italian painter known for his classical compositions, often depicting pastoral or historical scenes. The print features a scene identified as “A Family of Travellers with a Donkey in a Wooded Landscape,” attributed to Maggiotto. The additional name on the print, Francesco del Pedro, suggests that he was the probable printmaker or engraver.
Based on the dimensions (12 x 16 1/4 inches, framed at 20 3/8 x 24 3/4 inches), the piece appears to be a later reproduction rather than an original engraving from Maggiotto’s era. The modern frame and adherence to back paper indicate that it was re-framed at some point, likely in the late 20th century. There is no visible damage to the print, but the back paper shows some wrinkling, which slightly affects the overall value.
