Good afternoon, Christopher,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. I still can't make out the marks that would identify the maker but this is a cigar humidor with presentation inscription. Contrary to popular thought, having a presentation inscription does not always add value - it would if the person receiving or giving it was of considerable significance or importance. As it is, this would be catalogued for auction as follows:
An Edwardian sterling silver cigar humidor
London, bearing date mark for 1896, with later presentation inscription "To S.J.Glanville /This token of affectionate esteem / from a few of us who worked with him / on "Lloyds List / 1920-1926"
bottom with leather lining; interior with adjustable divider.
5 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches
$1,000-1,500
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
I would be most interested in information about the inscription..."Lloyds list" is Lloyds of London...
The photos are helpful. Dimensions would be great if you can manage them. I'm doing a little digging into the inscription - stay tuned!
the dimensions are in the pictures its 5 1/2in by 3 1/2 inches...by 2 1/4 deep the bottom is leather
Additionally, I wanted to add that I spent a good bit of time reading up on Lloyd's List. It is one of the world's oldest continually running journals (since 1734) and covers maritime and shipping news. I've not been able to identify who 'SL Glanville' was, or what role he played in the List. Lloyds is still in business and I bet you could get information directly from the company.
OK I found what I believe could be a historical connection... S. J. Glanville..Is not this guy.

But he and his family helped Harry Price document The Borley Rectory Haunting... Maybe the connection to lloyds list is there was a family member that worked there..?

According to WIkipedia SJ Glanville is the name of Harry Price's helper...

Christopher, I'm not sure I was able to follow all of that. I do not think it affects the valuation ($1,000-1,500).
OK, hope these help let me know if there's any thing else you need.
