A loose round cut red ruby that came from a ring that was purchased in Canada at Eatons in the early 1970's. I don't know who made the ring.
7mm wide, 7mm length, and 3.5mm.
An Unmounted "Ruby", Modern
the circular mixed-cut stone of pleasing red colour, estimated to weigh approximately 1.4cts, (width) 7mm x 7mm (length) x 3.5mm (depth) .
I recommend Gem Testing to verify whether the stone is synthetic or natural and it's location (African or Sri Lankan). Most circular rubies are of synthetic origin.
Also precious stones are always more desirable in their original gold Ring mounts.
The estimates are assuming that the stone is natural.
Provenance: According to the owner the ruby is from a ring that her husband purchased for her in Canada at Eatons Jewellers in the early 1970's.
