It is a beautiful diamond with a lovely colour and clarity. The size is very good and the cut is extremely well done. The 0,97 ct diamond would attract a lot of attention from buyers and collectors if it came up for sale. The diamonds that are close to 1,0 ct are extremely popular.

The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised jewellery auction, where I believe the 0,97 ct diamond has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the diamond.
Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Yes this is the price that would be realistic if the diamond was sold at auction. However it is a lovely stone and it may even sell for more. I would therefore recommend that you set a reserve price close to the estimate if you choose to sell it at auction.
