Beautiful Day 2001 Monotype 75 x 107 cms Black frame
Purchased as a gift from Flowers East dealer in 2002
Thank you for submitting photographs and information on this second print. Based on what you've provided, I would say the estimate for this work is on par with the other one you submitted ('Seaside'), based on size, composition and medium. For ease and continuity, I've copied my original entry for 'Seaside' below with some minor tweaks.
The appraised work appears to be a monotype, executed by British artist Lucy Jones (b. 1955). The work is titled 'Beautiful Day' and depicts an abstracted landscape with gestural strokes and large areas of bold color. The artist is well-known for her expressionistic landscapes and self-portraits. She studied at Camberwell School of Art and the Royal College of Art before traveling throughout Europe. Jones is currently based in Ludlow, and primarily takes inspiration from the vistas bordering Wales, Herefordshire and Shropshire. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. The appraised work's size, composition, medium and condition (based on photographs provided), as well as the artist's current overall auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
Hi Philip,
Apologies for my delayed response. If you email [email protected] with the links to the two appraisals, someone should be in touch to begin the consignment process.
All Best,
Grace
Thank you Grace. I'm just trying to work out how to consign these artworks now through Mearto. When I click on "submit" and enter the name of the artists, it draws a blank. Is there something I need to do first before consigning? Best regards, Philip
