Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a very decorative cutlery that you have sent photos of. It is made by the American silversmith company Lunt started by George C. Lunt in 1902. In 1935, the company name changed to Lunt Silversmiths. In 2009 the company name and inventory was sold to the competitor Reed & Barton however in 2010 the company filed for bankruptcy protection.
Lunt silverware is well know in America and in fact the Lunt's Embassy Scroll pattern was chosen by the United States government as its official tableware in all U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.
It is very good that your cutlery set has no engravings and is has a nice number of 10-18 pieces of each piece. It makes it much more sellable when it is a complete set ready to use. The box it comes in also adds to the value of the set. The fact that is has signs of use and patina is ofcourse a drawback on the price, but then again expectable when you buy antiques. It adds to the charm of the piece.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised silver auction, where I believe the place setting has the best chance of realising its fullest potential.
