Goebel Hummel titled "Prayer Before Battle Figurine #20 Boy & Horse. On the bottom of the figurine it has a large V shaped letter in blue with a bee above it. Below the V it says W - GERMANY. Above the V it has "20 imprinted into the clay/porcelain. To the right it says 5 in black ink.
It was a gift from my mother when I was a child. She told me it was very expensive and to take good care of it.
Hi Janet,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Hummel figures were incredibly popular among collectors in the 1950s-1990s and there are a lot of them on the market, unfortunately with less demand than supply so it is quite rare for individual pieces to be worth more than $5-50 each, at auction. The value can occasionally be boosted if the piece retains its original factory packaging.
If you'd like for your appraisal to include dimensions, which is customary, please forward in the comments section - at your convenience - the overall height and I'll update this ASAP.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Depicting a young boy with a toy rifle and horn, praying with his rocking horse; top of base inscribed MI Hummel and marked underneath; script "5" in underglaze black.
