This is an antique, late 19th century to early 20th century bronze and cloisonne, or champleve enamel, mantel clock that was sold through Maple & Co''s Paris outpost. The 'mosaic' elements on this are cloisonne, which is ground enamel applied in the channels between metal wirework. Cloisonne is typically Chinese or Japanese, though some can be Russian and other origins. Maple & Company was established in London, England and they were the leading maker and retailer of fine goods and furniture in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras.
