Marcus & co cuff links
31 August 2020
Description

A tuxedo set of Marcus & company 14k cufflinks, mounted with small pearls. I believe there in the original box which has the Marcus & co stamp from 5th ave New York.

Provenance

The item was given to me from a friend who lives on 5th ave at my workplace. This I believe makes the item more likely to be authentic.

What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

It is a beautiful set of Marcus & Co gold cufflinks set. Such vintage cuff links are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The brand Marcus & Co is very wellknown and is very sought after by both dealers and collectors. The quality is high and the materials used good. These cufflinks are made of 14 kt yellow gold and set with mother of pearl and pearls. the design is very classic and elegant. The set is probably made in the first half/middle of the 1900s. I cannot see any photos of the marks but I presume they are marked / Signed Marcus & co. If not they would have to be verified by a specialist in real life.

I believe that this set would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the Marcus & Co set has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the cufflinks. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
