Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a tourist-trade piece, with decorative value. The colors are too bright and the imagery is inconsistent with that made by Aztec, Mayan or Incan cultures, to the extent I'm unable to say which culture this is based upon.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Pre-Columbian style polychromed earthenware pottery footed storage jar
unattributed culture, 19th or early 20th Century
Of circular section, the bulbous body decorated with stylized brightly colored designs and figures, with tall flaring neck and all on three short applied feet.
7 inches tall, 3 inches diameter
CONDITION: colors are bright (relatively recent) with minimal patina and some minor "chip losses" to simulate age.
PROVENANCE: acquired at a Goodwill store
$40-60*
