I do not know the history of this item. It is a rare find for me. A property management company was clearing out a house that was owned by an elderly couple suffering from dementia. The couples children had put them in an assisted living facility. The property management company was essentially throwing this couples entire lifes acquisitions in a construction dumpster. I pulled a large steamer trunk out if the dumpster and the axe was inside. The research I done online points me toward 19th century Persian, Sudanese, and Islamic origins. The condition is good and looks as if it was well used. Due to a little oxidation and what may be centuries old dried blood the materials it's made of are undecided. Bronze & possibly silver.
Around 4 ft in height and the double headed axe portion around 10 inches across.
