Bhuda (?) Painted in the square portion on paper and cloth around it, decorated with birds. Dimensions: Height 30.0" x Width 18.0"
Not much, purchased this one along with the previous one I sent you few minutes ago in Indonesia around 1985/86.
Hello Michel,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times. The item presented appears to be a Thangka style tapestry. The work may be painting with mineral paints or printed. The image appears to depicts Yamantaka, who is know to be the "Conqueror of Death." You can read more about the deity in the provided Wikipedia link here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamantaka
The work appears to be inscribed to the verso. However, we are unable to translate the script. Based on recent auction records and estimates of similar Thangka paintings, this work may receive an auction estimate range of $1,000 - 1,500, depending on size and condition. Thank you again and I hope you have a warm holiday. Stay safe.
I have not yet received the appraisal on the below item:
"Bhuda (?) Painted in the rectangle portion on paper and cloth around it, decorated with birds. Dimensions: Height 49.5" x Width 23.5"
When can I expect the appraisal, thank you and look forward to a response, thank you, Michel
