Meriden B. Company Ice Water Pitcher
Meriden B. Company Ice Water Pitcher stamped with a patent of both June 1868 and November 1868. 13 inches tall. 12 inches wide. It's been in my family since my great grandfather purchased it new.
I inherited it from my mother. It's been in my family for 150 years.

This is an antique 19th century, Victorian era, silver plated lidded and handled water pitcher by the Meriden B(ritannia) Company from Meriden, Connecticut. The pitcher is lined in ceramic so as to keep liquids cool in it. These were generally made with tilting stands and matching cups. The pitcher has elements incorporated in it that were patented through Rogers Bros in 1868; however your mold form pitcher more likely dates to the 1870s - 1880s. Plated silver does not have a precious metal melt down value like sterling silver does. Pitchers with tilting stands and matching cups sell for significantly higher. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
