Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Continental engraved copper or brass ceremonial covered chalice
early 19th Century or earlier
Of standard chalice form, the engraved cover with cross-form finial, the foot with repousse stylized foliate decoration.
(DIMENSIONS)
CONDITION: verdigris patination to the lid, minor tarnishing and some denting throughout, expectant and normal with age.
PROVENANCE: inherited
