Hi Mark,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This lamp is a modern Italian design that closely resembles the "Triennale" floor lamp, originally designed by Angelo Lelli (1911–1979), an influential Italian lighting designer and founder of Arredoluce, a pioneering lighting company based in Monza, Italy. He was known for blending functionality with avant-garde design, and his lamps often featured modular, articulated elements that allowed for great flexibility — a hallmark of the mid-century modern era. He designed the Triennale lamp in the 1950s.
Original Arredoluce versions are considered iconic and collectible — often fetching several thousand dollars at auctions. Reproductions and modern versions (by brands like Stilnovo, Oluce, or even contemporary makers) exist and follow the same visual DNA but are not quite as valuable (usually just a few hundred or a bit more, depending on the maker).
Check under the marble base or along the stem for a label, engraving, or etched brand name (like “Arredoluce Monza” or a serial number). I've appraised this as an unattributed lamp so if you see a name etc please let me know and I'll revise this appraisal as appropriate.
