PAINTING of Monet's Wife
Father
This is a later 20th century print reproduction of a painting by attributed to both the Dutch Golden Age painter, Samuel van Hoogstraten (1627 - 1678) who was a follower of Rembrandt van Rijn (1606 - 1669) and to being a work from the workshop of (collaboration) Rembrandt. This is not a reproduction of a work by French Impressionist Claude Monet (1840 - 1926). The work here is a print of the 1645 painting, Woman at Half Door and the one and only original is in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. This framed print is intended as decorative wall art and does not have fine art investment value. The estimate is based on size, which appears large in the photo and actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
