Hello Floyd.
Thank you again for your appraisal inquires with MeArto. The item presented appears to be a woodcut print by Heinrich Carl (American, 20th century) titled "Texas Jazz," circa 1940 . The print is signed, titled, and numbered 50 of an edition of 100 to the lower margin.
Unfortunately, there is not much information regarding the artist at this point. Nevertheless, there are a few auction listings of woodcut prints by Carl available. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of this woodcut print and others by Carl.
Hello Floyd.
Ebay listings are "retail" or "private" sales, rather than fair market value estimates. Further, these listings remain unsold. I do reference "sold" Ebay listings because that means someone was willing to pay the price (fair market).
I found a few Ebay listings, all remain unsold and have been "on sale" for many months to years. Therefore, I would not consider these as good examples for estimates.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find any "sold" Heinrich Carl woodcuts on Ebay.
Understood, Thank You !
Thanks for the clarification of name, with it i located (4) four on Ebay, 1 in $400 range the others $500 up, should factor those into
my average or do you reference other auctions ? Thanks
