Mountain landscape painting signed Kingman. Want to see if this is an authentic Eugene Kingman (1909-1975), an American cartographer, painter, muralist, teacher and museum director. In addition to (6) images of the painting I purchased, I am attaching a very similar work by Kingman that I found online on mutualart.com.

Dear Sarah Chodera,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a landscape oil painting on canvas depicting a river and tree line in the foreground with a mountain range in the background. The work is signed Kingman to the lower left corner, and can be positively attributed to Eugene Kingman (American, 1909-1975). From the images provided, the work appears to be in Good condition with minor crushed impasto. It measures 16 x 12 inches.
Eugene Kingman was a Regionalist American artist. He studied art and geology at Yale University and went on to become a prominent landscape artist. His work was often published, including a spread in the National Geographic. Kingman worked as a Director in multiple art museums and continued to pursue his own artistic practice alongside his professional career. Due to his strong output of works, Kingman's paintings appear frequently on the market. His compositions are often very similar, depicting landscapes or hounds, and therefore tend to flood the market, decreasing the works' sales value. There does not appear to be a difference in value across his various compositions, however many of the works pass at auction. For these reasons, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between $200 and $500.
Thank you for your appraisal submission.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
