Hi Pat,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Murano chandeliers are prized for their luminous beauty, sculptural drama, and centuries-old Venetian glassmaking tradition from Murano. Crafted by master artisans, often through renowned firms such as Venini and Barovier & Toso, they feature hand-blown arms, floral motifs, and vibrant or crystal-clear glass. Each piece reflects meticulous workmanship and subtle variations that make it unique. Styles range from ornate Rococo forms to sleek mid-century designs, allowing them to suit both historic and modern interiors. Their interplay of light, color, and transparency creates a sense of elegance and theatricality that elevates any space.
This looks like one that was made in the mid/late 20th Century and while it was probably quite costly when new, ones of these size are currently selling on the secondary auction for about $1,000, though I've found a few similar examples listed for sale online by retailers asking for quite a bit more.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Murano cobalt blue glass eight-light chandelier
unattributed maker
The turned standard support profusely issuing C-scroll arms, the base issuing eight arms supporting bowl-form candlecups.
38 inches high, 35 inches diameter
CONDITION: This appears to be in good condition
