Estate sale of former Sr VP at Motorola
This is a fairly contemporary hand blown art glass vase from the island of Murano off the coast of Venice, Italy. Murano has a long history of producing hand blow glass ware and decorative objects. There have been hundreds of makers throughout the centuries. Glass wares from Murano are considered collectible. This vase is called the Calabria and uses a sommerso glass technique. Similar vases being sold through the primary store online offer the Calabria for almost $1000USD. Bear in mind that an ‘asking price’ is one that has not been sold yet and a true sale value is based on actual past documented sale records. Also keep in mind that the initial retail price is usually the highest price paid and that these do not generally re-sell on the secondary market for more than the current original asking price. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Hi Nora,
Hope this works. If not, I will try again.
Thanks.
Jeff.
Hi Nora,
I found this vase online at the official Murano Glass store. It is a Calabria Murano vase. The 11" tall vase that I have sells for 830 Euro or $979.
Thanks.
Jeff.
The vase weighs 19 lbs, so with VAT and shipping another pretty penny gets added to the price. Curious about your auction pricing.
The price you see online is a current retail price, as explained above, primary retail prices usually are not exceeded nor retained after the initial first sale.
Thank you. I am learning.
You are very welcome
Please add a more clear, in-focus close-up of the clear label that is affixed to the underside of this vase.
