I have 8 figurines to be appraised individually or as a Collection. I dont know much about these figures. It is hard to read the writing and stamps on the bottom. Please see pictures. Most in good condition, 2 with damage see pictures.
Grandfather brought back from Germany when he served in WW2.
Good evening, Jana,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please tell me the height of these figures?
Thanks,
Delia
Good morning, Jana,
Apologies for the delay...it took longer to find some previous examples.
These are expensive figures to buy, new, but do not retail their value and even if sold "mint in box" condition, rarely bring at auction what a retail store such as Replacements or RubyLane can sell them for.
At auction, the larger figures in good condition are anywhere from $100-300, the smaller figures bring between $25-75 each. I would catalog them as a group, with a rather broad value spread, as follows:
A Group of Eight Antique or Vintage Dresden "Handgemalt (Handmade)" Painted porcelain figures
Made in Germany, all 20th Century of varying
Sizes and figures vary from 3 to 8 inches
CONDITION: Not examined in person. Apparent losses to some fingers and lace
PROVENANCE: client's grandfather acquired them in Germany during/after World War II, thence to client
$600-1200*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price (such as on eBay, Replacements or RubyLane) may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
