Primitive precolonial tools
New England Deceased relative
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a native american full groove axe, possibly basalt or granite, very well executed and apparently in excellent condition. The other stone shows traces of drilling, but what it was intended to be will be pure speculation. A very primitive oil lamp would be an idea. These stone axes are quite common, but cultural relics protection laws might be applicable nonetheless. The estimate is based on recent auction results. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
