Dear Asaf Gurvitz,
Thank you again for your appraisal submission. The work is a 20th century Chinese ink wash scroll painting. It depicts two birds seated on a cherry blossom branch. The work is sealed and inscribed to the right edge. Our research was unable to match the seal. From the images provided, the work appears to be in good condition with signs of foxing, and a slight weave to the sheet in frame. The sight measures 60 x 40 cm.
Without an artistic attribution, the Fair Market Value of this work is estimated based on sales trends of Chinese scroll paintings, and those of cherry blossoms. Chinese School scroll paintings have a strong buyers demand on the secondary market. Works by known artists can sell above $1000. For example, in 2025 a lot of two scroll paintings with the mark of Dong Bangda sold for $5000. In 2025, a scroll painting of the early 20th century sold for $2400. In 2021, a 20th century scroll painting of birds perched on blossoming branches sold for $50. In 2024, a 20th century scroll painting of birds among blossoms by an unknown artist sold for $320. Considering these trends, we estimate the FMV of this work between $200 and $500.
Thank you again for your submission.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
