Sports collectibles are usually more valuable if they've been authenticated by one of a few recognized collectibles assessors, and if there is some verifiable evidence of when this jersey was signed, though I can tell from the jersey that it was made before Sakic won the Stanley Cup (after which, his jersey had a Stanley Cup patch on it). In researching this, I found several signed Sakic jerseys available for purchase on EBay for less than $500. Yours would be a bit more desirable if it were framed in a double-sided frame so that both the front and back were visible.
