I have 47 pieces of Noritake China, still in original packaging with barcode price sticker of $158.50 on each piece. Back stamp has Japan, 6107, Colburn, US Design Pat. 194926.
Found in attic of old house we bought.
Good morning, Casey,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please confirm how many of each plate (dinner, luncheon, bread/butter, bowls, cups, saucers etc) you have as well as how many service pieces (platters, serving bowls, etc).
Thanks!
Delia
Thanks, Casey, for confirming the piece count. It's pretty unusual for BRAND NEW / UNUSED pieces to come up for auction; I know these retail for quite a lot of money but I think the most you'd recoup if you sold at auction is maybe 25% of the sticker price...and even then...
Based on the photograph and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A 47-piece Noritake part dinner service
Made in Japan, bears mark in use after 1963, Colburn pattern #6107, comprising:
8 Dinner Plates
16 salad plates
9 bread & butter plates,
4 footed cups,
7 saucers,
2 lugged cereal bowls,
1 serving platter (11 inches)
$300-500*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price ( such as on Replacements, eBay or RubyLane) may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
Thank you Delia! So, if I were to donate I should use 25% of the sticker price as the appraised value? Do the responses here on this site serve as an official appraisal, or can a document be provided? Thanks again!
The values Mearto provides are for auction; we do not provide appraisals for insurance, estate purposes or taxes. If you need that, let me know and I can have our office refer you.
We work with lots of auctioneers from relevant and highly qualified auction houses. Your item is in our database of leads and interested auctioneers will reach out to you directly on your email if they can help you sell your item.
If you said "yes" or "maybe" when we asked if your item was for sale auctioneers are now able to contact you. If you said "no" go to your item page and change that to "yes".
An appraisal from a Mearto expert increases the chance of connecting successfully with a professional auctioneer who can sell your item. Happy to help and let us know if you have other items.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
yes, please refer me for an official/certified appraisal that can be used for donation/tax purposes. Thanks
