I really don't remember where i purchased this, could have been a garage sale or goodwill etc. I had the lithograph for a year or two in the closet and my wife recently pulled it out. I was able to identify the artist by doing a google image search. The print is number 13 of 50 and appears to be signed in pencil. The name of the print is "Nu Debout"
This lithograph had a gold stamp from the Bresler Galleries Milwaukee on the back. Here is what i found about Bresslers "The F.H. Bresler Gallery quickly became the premier place for Milwaukeeans to buy original art. This was due in no small part to the fact that the Bresler family made many art buying trips to Europe to enhance the gallery inventory. Frank Bresler died in 1931, and his daughter Gertrude took over the family business. She maintained control of the business until 1955, when she made the decision to sell the family business to John Seidel. John Seidel continued to run the business in much the same way as the Bresler family had, by concentrating on keeping museum quality, high-art objects available to his clientele. However, eventually his interests had turned more to the appraisal of art, and less to the actual selling of art. "
This is a vintage signed and numbered limited edition etched print entitled Nu Debout by Chinese-French artist Wou-Ki Zao (1921 - 2013). It is a hand rendered print with platemark and not a lithograph. The edition was limited to only 50 prints. He is known for his abstract style which was influenced by the style of Paul Klee. The artist is heavily listed and has a long record of auction sales. His signature is a cypher which has his first name in Chinese characters and his last name in 'Western orthography'. Nu Debout was executed in 1951. the estimate is based on actual past auction sales of matches to this print in the same edition. The print is cited in the following catalogues:
