Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a seascape, depicting a boat in the surf at sunset, signed lower right "ER Smull.. " or similar. The brushstrokes are on the level of a talented amateur artist, the intense orange was a favourite colour in the 1970s. It is very likely that this would be a painting done by this lady friend. The estimate is based on auction results of similar paintings by lesser known artists sold at auction.
