Made from all different pieces of odd materials. I believe its a description of General Mcarthur? It is 26"×26"
Bought it at an antique shop in Tiburon ,CA. Believed to have come out of someones house related to Sammy Davis Jr? Son, daughter? Owner of store said a few items from this estate came here and this was one of them.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a collage of metal objects laid or nailed down on jute fabric. On the right some kind of knight swinging a morningstar while standing on another knight with the badge "hero". They both are opposing some kind of general in or on a tank. Judging from the found objects used to assemble this collage I would assume it was made in the 1970s by a rather professional collage artist. One of the famous artist who used found objects was Picasso, his “Bull's Head” or Tête de taureau is unique.
In the 1960s and 1970s thousands of unknown artists used basically the same idea to produce art, then sold it at art fairs and street markets. Without a signature this is hard to attribute to a certain artist. As an outsider art / art brut / mid century modern wall hanging I would assume it will sell in the price range listed. A Sammy Davis jr. provenance would be great but needs to be proven by photos etc.
