An Impressionist oil on canvas signed by/attributed to Louis Valtat.

This oil on canvas was purchased from a second hand store associated with a charity in Los Angeles in 2018. Although I have no provenance, the painting was included along with Meissen porcelain, fine jewelry and sterling silver of renowned manufacturers in the estate of which its donation was a part. This same establishment was known for having sold many pieces of very high end art and objet.

The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil paint on canvas with 15 3/4 x 11 7/8 inches measurements. The painting depicts a landscape with houses and a mountainside in the background. It is monogrammed "L.V.". The monogram and the style are comparable with works by the French artist Louis VALTAT (1869-1952). The composition of the motif and the details of the depiction appear weak in comparison with authenticated works by Valtat.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in bad to medium condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation for an authenticated artwork by Valtat would be between 10.000 to 20.000 USD.
