It is a cute teddy bear. Such vintage toys are being offered at auction on a regular basis. In particular teddy bears are highly sought after at auction and when sold second hand. It is important that they are in good condition without any major signs of wear and use. Your teddy bear appears to be in good condition with only minor signs of wear/use/cuddling. Judging from the straight back it is very possible that the bear origins from the 1940-50s. I believe it is an English bear as the German bears tend to have the hump on the back, which was also typical of the early 1900s bears. Often the price depends on the maker - some makers are more popular amongst collectors than others, and when there are no tags or marks on you bear it is hard to tell who the maker was. However it resembles English bears with the rounded ears and the way the nose is stitched. It could possibly be made by the company Chiltern, however I am not certain of this.

The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online vintage toys auction, where I believe the teddybear has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to your mothers teddy bear. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
