German doll in original clothes.
My grandmother collected three of these doll and kept them displayed in her home.
Dear Wendy,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be a probably Kestner baby doll with a ceramic head and a fabric body. The doll is stamped with Germany on the sole of the foot. This piece was probably made in the 1920s to 1940s.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 250 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Just checking on the progress that you have made on appraisal of the doll.
There is no marking on the back of the neck, just on the feet.
