What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a pair of collotype prints after photographs, showing the Coliseum and the Forum Romanum in Rome, within a quarter sawn oak and ebonised oak frame. The medullary rays with in the wood structure might appear as a different material, but is just plain oak. Rome photographs or prints were the perfect Grand Tour souvenir, or as the prints were made in the USA possible something that a homesick italian of the 1880s might have used to decorate his home. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction.
