This looks like a watercolor painting. I found it framed behind another picture that I had purchased online. The glass had broken and needed replaced and when taken apart, the front picture, Sacred Heart of Jesus, was damaged by the shipping / glass. There was a piece of paper indicating the front picture was framed in the 1930s. The watercolor was behind it.
Online purchase several years ago. I never thought too much about it until recently.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a late 19th century british watercolour, enhanced with opaque white for the white irises, depicting a goose girl near a river, a thatched roof cottage with dovecote to the right in the distance. The water colour is signed J.Paubury or similar, slightly faded and the paper has turned brown. The estimate is based on similar watercolors by lesser known artists sold at auction. Unfortunately the artist Paubury or Parbery or similar is not listed.
The water color is signed although I cannot make out the full name. See second picture, lower right corner.
