TITLE: Gent’s stainless steel, self-winding, water-resistant, mechanical movement with mainspring battery, tonneau-shaped, dress wristwatch with date and stainless steel bracelet with folding deployment clasp (omega ref. 1223/214), ‘Automatic date’ model, ref. 166.01.91, S/N 37739714 on movement battery, made by Omega, Geneva, Switzerland circa 1973
DESCRIPTION:
Case: 35mm diameter (not including setting crown), two leaf, brushed stainless steel tonneau-shaped watch case with concentric dial, fluted Omega setting crown, screw-down case back engraved with Omega horseshoe in the center, all fully integrated with a stainless-steel Omega bracelet and folding deployment clasp. Most of the links in the bracelet are solid and not riveted. I believe the crystal is Plexiglas.
Dial: Cushion shaped black dial with applied steel baton hours with luminous dots at the end of the baton, short open bar minute track and date aperture @3, pointy baton hands and center seconds counterbalanced sweep pointer hand. The dial is signed, “Omega, Automatic” above, ‘Geneva’ below and ‘Swiss Made’ at the base.
Movement: This is the Omega caliber 1012, with the automatic gear is integrated into the movement, instead of attaching it to a manual-wind calibre was usually done. It is a self-winding movement with sweep seconds, quickset with hack feature. The movement is 27.9mm diameter, made with 23 jewels, vibrating at a frequency of 28800 beats/hour and a power reserve of 42 hours. This movement calibre was made from 1972-1984 with 126000 units made. Incabloc shock proofing. The serial number on the movement is 37739714. The mainspring uses an Omega 1010-1208 battery.
CONDITION:
Case – Moderate number of scratches on both the front of the case and the bracelet. Fair to good.
Dial – Moderate amount of wear to the dial with loss of numerous minute markers, the word Geneve and Made in Swiss made. Scratches and scuffs to Plexiglas cover over the dial. Fair-Good
Bracelet – also shows signs of stretching unevenly.
Movement – original, genuine and status of function Is not known.

PRICING:
If this wristwatch was in pristine condition, its fair market value would be close to $750-$800, but as you noted the dial, case and the bracelet have certain deductions. Therefore, I believe the fair market value of the watch in its present condition should be in the range of $500-$600 on the watch market. I do not think I would sell it for much less than the lower figure. It is a hard wristwatch to find, if you are looking for this watch.
