Heavy Wool carpet runner. Needs cleaning but has no visible stains. Does have worn fringes and one side next to the fringe is missing a 1.5" by 1.0" area. We have owned it approximately 25 years.
150" x 30.5" 3/4" thick
Hello, this item is a wool carpet runner in the Oriental revival style, measuring approximately 150 x 30.5 inches. Like the matching full-sized rug previously appraised, this piece features a black ground with central floral medallions and pastel-colored botanical borders, echoing late 20th-century Chinese adaptations of French Aubusson designs. The weave and finish suggest hand-tufted rather than hand-knotted construction, typical of decorative export rugs from China made between the 1980s and early 2000s.
While the runner remains visually appealing and largely intact, there is a reported area of missing pile (1.5” x 1.0”) and wear to the fringes. These factors, along with the need for cleaning, slightly reduce the market value. Despite that, it retains value as a functional and stylish floor covering. The fair market estimate is $100–150 USD.
