40" x 50" original oil painting by Ron Stewart. Commissioned in late '80s for Dr and Mrs Flowers of Memphis TN for $12000. Similar painting, "Autumn Morning" by Mr Stewart now selling at Cultural Patina for $21000. Other similar paintings in size by Mr Stewart selling for $23000 plus.
Commission by Flowers' family in late '80s. Dr Flowers died. Mrs Flowers now has stage III cancer. Spoke with artist in AZ. Original commission for $12000.

The auction market for Stewart's work is not quite as strong as the retail / gallery market. The current auction record for the artist is $6,600, which was achieved in 1998 for "Ponies for Piegans," a 30 by 74 inch painting. The house that sold it was Alterman Galleries and had estimated it at $9,000-12,000.
Since that price was achieved, his paintings of the size this is bring prices ranging from $1,500-5,000. Given the monumental landscape composition of this painting, it would have an estimate of $3,000-5,000.
