Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a landscape oil painting on canvas by Jacqueline Lewis Bowker (American, born 1946). The composition is a detail view of boulders and wildflowers. The work is signed to the lower left. It is in good condition with no visual issues to note, measuring 20 x 23 inches in frame.

Bowker is a California-based landscape artist. While all of her work depicts landscapes, her most popular compositions are the Western desert. Bowker states that she used to complete nearly 120 paintings per year as a younger artist, and today, she has an extensive sales record due to her fast output. Her paintings have sold on the secondary market as recently as the last few months. A frequent presence on the market, as well as the strong similarities amongst her paintings, appears to lead to a decrease in sales value as the works are not rare, and many of her works have passed at sale. However, noting the sales value trends over the past few years, there does appear to be more consistent sales than passes in recent years, suggesting an increase in value. With these trends, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between $200 and $500.
