Perfect Condition, Original Oil Painting, Landscape, Pastel colors, Signed by artist but not sure of the name, ornate carved gold frame
23x19
Dear Kacie Argabright,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. Based on the photographs provided, your work appears to be an oil painting on canvas measuring 23 x 19 inches with the frame. The painting is an Impressionist style landscape by John Clymer (British, born 1932). It depicts trees and foliage along a riverbank or pond with an architectural structure in the background. The composition is a close resemblance to Alfred Sisley's "Late Afternoon at Moret," possibly depicting the same Cathedral. It is signed to the lower left, and appears to be in good condition with minor accretions to the surface.
John Clymer is a painter of the Impressionist style who has been active across Europe and the United States. His work often appears on the market, and the paintings of European waterways and cityscapes have the most demand. Based on the auction records of similar scenes and size, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work to be from $200 - $500.
Thank you for your submission. If you have any questions regarding this appraisal, please leave a comment in the comment box below.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
