Hello, this item is an original mixed media painting signed “Frances Barnard /81,” attributed to Frances Barnard, who is noted here as the wife of journalist Bob Woodward and an alumna of the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. The work, framed at approximately 15 × 18 inches, displays a geometric abstraction centered on a textured triangular form, combining painterly and possibly collage or layered techniques characteristic of postmodern experimentation in the early 1980s. The piece is reported to be in excellent condition, and the personal provenance strengthens its historical context, though it requires formal confirmation of the artist’s identity and exhibition or sale history.
In terms of valuation, if Frances Barnard has an established artistic career, auction record, or gallery representation, a small, framed original from this period might carry an estimated value between $800–$2,000 USD, depending on her market presence. However, if she is known more as a private or lesser-known artist without broader market exposure, the piece would hold more sentimental or decorative value, likely ranging from $200–$500 USD.
