Bought at "old items" store around 1988.
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with MeArto.
The print presented appears to be a rotogravure after a 1938 drypoint etching by Richard Evett Bishop (American, 1887 - 1975) titled "Geese Overhead." The print depicts a flock of geese in flight, in the Art Deco style. The print is signed, copyrighted and dated in plate and includes the title and facsimile signature to the margin.
Bishop was a well-known wildlife etcher and painter. Most of his work featured depictions of ducks and geese. He also etched a number of Christmas cards throughout the mid-century.
The estimate provided it based on recent auction estimates and results of intaglio reproductions of the print.
