This is an antique 19th century framed watercolor landscape painting depicting impending weather along a river or stream in a valley with a building in the middle ground and mountains in the background. It is signed lower right, E. Taylor. The mastery of the watercolor medium and depiction are by the hand of an artist who is quite competent. This work can be attributed to possibly be by the English artist, potter and teacher, Edward Richard Taylor (1838 - 1911 or 1912). He painted in both oils and watercolor. In checking against known signatures, there was one comparable match to yours. Taylor became a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 1879. This watercolor painting likely pre-dates 1879, as the signature would usually be followed with the initials R.B.S.A. by members.
