Original watercolor by George Laisner
This painting is 14"w x 20"h. It is in the original frame (22"w x 28h") and matting that it was presented in at the original art gallery. It is in excellent condition. There is one small chip in the bottom of the wood frame.
This painting was purchased by my mother (Ruth Aram) from an art gallery in Clarkston, Washington in 1955. George Laisner lived in Pullman, Washington at that time, thirty miles to the North of Clarkston and had a number of pieces for sale in the gallery.. I was a housewarming gift from a group of their friends. Mother paid $30 for it. My father did not like it and wanted her to purchase a painting of a Herford cow. Mother liked it's bright colors and had it hanging in the living room of her many homes until she chose to move into an assisted living center in 2017 at the age of 99. She also liked the subject of two golfers, one having a bright red shirt that stands out among all the greenery in the painting.

This is a vintage original framed painting by Czech-American artist, George Alois Ferdinand Laisner (1914 - 1984). Laisner is considered more of a 'regional' artist; meaning his works would sell more in the area of Pullman, Washington and around the State College than it would other places. His works ranged from realism to abstract to surrealist in style. He is lightly listed with only a few recorded auction sales. The estimate is based on actual past sales of comparables and does not factor in a possibility of a higher sale value in his former regional areas.
