I bought this painting because I thought it demonstrated skill on the part of the artist and it is signed, although the signature is not clear. It is 32 inches wide by 24 inches high. The painting is on board.
This landscape came from an estate sale.
Dear Rhonda,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 32 inches wide by 24 inches high. The painting depicts a wide landscape with a trainway in the style of the "Naïve art". The painting is signed in the right corner with a difficult to read the signature. The first letter of the last name could be an H or K. Then we could read "oltl". Sadly these readings don't lead to a known and listed artist.
The frame or the brass hanger has Chinese decor.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 200 to 300 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
