Historically, their appeal is a mix of practicality, aesthetics, and symbolism. Today, many people buy a partner's desk less because they need two workstations and more because they appreciate the furniture itself. It's one of those pieces where the craftsmanship, symmetry, and historical character can make the room feel more like a classic study or library than a typical office.
