Hi Paul,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Robert Hurst is a contemporary commercial / sports-pop art printmaker whose works circulate mainly in the poster and canvas-print market. He is known for producing canvas prints and poster-style works of famous athletes that focus on sports celebrities rather than original fine-art subjects.
This canvas giclee print- which is colloquially called "Pennsylvania Passers" is titled "Pennsylvania Quarterbacks" in the lower right corner. It depicts 5 NFL quarterbacks from Pennsylvania: Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, and Joe Namath.
Canvas giclee prints are high-quality art reproductions made by spraying ink onto canvas using a specialized inkjet printer. The technique can produce a high resolution image with subtle shading and texture that resists fading and is more affordable than an original painting. Despite what some eBay listings call them, they are not rare; 50 copies were made of this particular canvas giclee and when they come to auction, they rarely sell for more than $100, though sellers will often price them quite a bit higher.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
