I purchased this rug while deployed to Bahrain in 2017, I saw it and the vibrant/bright colors and intricate design caught my eye. I purchased this rug from Carpet Oasis in Bahrain. It's in amazing condition as I have kept is safe in my wardrobe closet. It's a pure silk rug, dyed by vegetable, country of origin is Iran, Qom, its design is doom, knots per square inch 1,450 and its 2.6 X 4. I can't remember how much I purchased it for and would like to get an estimate on worth?
2.6' X 4'
Hello, this item is a hand-knotted Persian silk rug from Qom (Qum), Iran, featuring an architectural domed medallion design—typical of the city’s highly refined silk weaving tradition. Qom silk carpets are among the most luxurious Persian rugs, known for their luminous silk, extremely fine knot count (1,450 KPSI in this case), and intricate motifs rooted in Islamic architecture, calligraphy, and gardens.
This specific piece, measuring 2.6’ × 4’, falls into the “small format collector” category. The high knot density places it among premium grades, and its preservation in pristine condition boosts its desirability.
