This style of sofa is frequently called a Duncan Phyfe based on similarities to ones made by Duncan Phyfe in NYC in the early 19th Century (1825-1835); yours was made in the 20th century but unless there are labels or other maker's marks, it would be very difficult to identify the maker of this sofa as it was a very popular style. Unfortunately, not very popular today, as reflected in my valuation.

Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A Classical style carved mahogany sofa
Unattributed maker, Probably American but possibly English, circa 1935-1945
The arched crest centering foliate carving, with carved sleigh ends on scroll feet; overupholstered in pink upholstery
35 inches overall height, 83 inches wide, 34 inches deep
CONDITION: not examined in person but appears to be in good condition with wear commensurate to age and use. Upholstery is probably later.
PROVENANCE: inherited
